
COLLINGWOOD OPP CHARGE THREE DRIVERS WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

(Collingwood, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three motorists with impaired driving following three separate traffic stops.
On September 23, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in response to a traffic complaint in the area of Sunset Point Park in Collingwood. During the investigation, officers developed grounds to believe the driver was operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
As a result, Carleigh ANDERSON, 39, of Clarksburg, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Failure to comply with demand
- Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
On September 25, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Hume Street and St. Marie Street in Collingwood. During the investigation, officers developed grounds to believe the driver was operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
As a result, Michael HAY, 68, of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Red light – proceed before green
On September 27, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in response to a traffic complaint in the area of Blue Mountain Village. During the investigation, officers developed grounds to believe the driver was operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
As a result, Matyas HARAI, 47, of Glendale, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date. In addition to the charges, each driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
