Collingwood, ON — Collingwood United Soccer Club (CUSC) is proud to announce the launch of Kick Hunger Out, a new community-driven initiative aimed at tackling food insecurity and supporting local families in need.

Rooted in the club’s commitment to community, Kick Hunger Out will bring together players, families, and local partners to collect non-perishable food items and raise awareness around food insecurity across the area. The initiative will be integrated into club programming throughout the season, with dedicated collection points at training sessions, match days, and club events.

“With over 1,300 players and families involved in our club, we recognize the powerful role we can play in supporting our community beyond the game,” said Lea Pankhurst, Director of Soccer at CUSC. “Kick Hunger Out is about using that collective strength to make a meaningful difference for those who need it most.”

Board member Jackie Culford was instrumental in getting the initiative off the ground, helping to drive its development and connect the club with key community partners.

All donations collected through the initiative will go directly to local food security and community organizations, ensuring support reaches individuals and families facing food insecurity in the Collingwood area. With its launch driven by collections from the club’s travel team players, CUSC has already distributed over 300 items to local organizations.

CUSC is calling on its members and the wider community to get involved by donating non-perishable items and helping spread the word.

Together, through the shared love of soccer, Collingwood United Soccer Club hopes to make a lasting impact, proving that when a community comes together, it can truly Kick Hunger Out.
