šØš¦ Canada Ocean Racingās IMOCA 60Ā EMIRA IVĀ to Arrive in Collingwood for Summer 2026

Collingwood, ON [05 June 2026] āĀ The Town of Collingwood and the Collingwood Yacht Club are pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of the Canada Ocean Racing IMOCA 60 racing yacht, EMIRA IV, on Monday, June 8, which will be docked in Collingwood Harbour for the summer season.
This internationally competitive foiling offshore racing yacht represents one of the most advanced monohull sailing vessels in the world. The vesselās visit to Collingwood marks a significant opportunity for residents and visitors to experience a world-class sailing campaign up close, while celebrating Canadian innovation, sport, and maritime excellence.
The campaign is led by Collingwood resident and Canadian offshore sailor Scott Shawyer, founder of Canada Ocean Racing, whose long-term goal is to become the first Canadian to complete the VendĆ©e Globe in 2028 ā one of the most demanding solo, non-stop, unassisted around-the-world yacht races. Through this campaign, Shawyer hopes to inspire others to challenge their own perceived limits, asking: āWhat if you gave yourself permission to find out what youāre capable of?ā
The IMOCA 60 class vessel EMIRA IV is part of the Canada Ocean Racing campaign, which has competed internationally, including in The Ocean Race Europe. The program also partners with āBe Water Positiveā initiatives alongside H2O Innovation and IDRA, raising global awareness around water scarcity and sustainable water solutions.
At 18.28 metres in length and capable of speeds in excess of 70 km/h, the foiling IMOCA 60 is among the fastest offshore monohull racing yachts in existence. Its arrival in Collingwood is believed to be one of the first visits of a foiling IMOCA 60 to Canadian waters.
