Midhurst/June 23, 2025 – On Wednesday, June 25 at 1:30 p.m., join the Friends of Wiidookdaadiwin as they celebrate the grand open of this new heritage/tourism attraction right here in Simcoe County.

This event marks the culmination of more than 20 years of dedicated effort by this group of partners and volunteers, who have worked extensively and collaboratively to bring to life their shared vision.

The vision for the Wiidookdaadiwin Lookout includes an opportunity to speak to the entire history of this place; thousands of years of usage by Indigenous nations, the colonization of the area by Europeans, and a new paradigm of cooperative development.

Wiidookdaadiwin, which means “Working Together and Helping One Another” in the Anishinaabemowin (Ojibway) language, embodies the spirit of partnership and community.
