– Another huge success with help from our community and Reliabuild –
(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Members from the Auxiliary Unit of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) held their annual toy and food drive on Saturday and would like to thank all those that donated to their worthy cause.
In addition to the support from community members, the OPP Auxiliaries also received a huge donation today of new unwrapped toys from our community partner, Reliabuild, and together they transported the huge amount of food and toys to the Salvation Army in Collingwood.
Reliabuild trucks along with several OPP vehicles filled with toys departed from the OPP detachment and made their way to the local Salvation Army. With the additional help of volunteers and members of the Optimist Club of Collingwood and Southern Georgian Bay, an assembly line was formed to pass the large number of toys from the trucks to the donation bins inside. Donations made through the OPP Auxiliary Toy and Food Drive benefit the Salvation Army foodbank and help many families in our community have a festive and happy holiday season.
