Warden Proclaims June as Pride Month in Simcoe County

June 1 to 30, 2026
Pride Month is recognized across Canada as a time to celebrate the contributions, resilience, and diversity of 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals, while also acknowledging the ongoing work required to advance equity and inclusion.
“Pride Month is a reminder of the strength that comes from embracing and celebrating our differences,” said Warden Basil Clarke. “In Simcoe County, we are committed to building communities where everyone feels seen, valued, and safe to be themselves. We demonstrate this commitment by flying the Pride flag throughout the month of June and by supporting initiatives that advance inclusion and strengthen our communities.”
Residents are encouraged to participate in Pride Month by learning, reflecting, and engaging in actions that support a more inclusive Simcoe County for everyone, including taking part in Pride‑related events and activities hosted within their local municipalities.
