COLLINGWOOD OPP ARREST AND CHARGE THREE IMPAIRED DRIVERS IN ONE NIGHT

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three motorists with impaired operation following separate traffic stops in one night.

On May 31, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Georgian Manor Drive and Lakeview Avenue. The traffic stop subsequently led to an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Helen ROBINSON, 74-year-old of Collingwood, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On May 31, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the area of Cedar Street and Walnut Street, which also led to an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Kacie HILL, 34-year- old of Collingwood, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On June 1, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police received a call for service regarding a traffic complaint in the area of Mountain Road and Slalom Gate Road. Officers located the vehicle involved and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Jessica MARUCIO, 32-year- old of Wasaga Beach, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero

All accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

The OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead if consuming alcohol or drugs. Arrange for a designated driver, taxi, rideshare, or other safe transportation option. Even small amounts of alcohol or drugs can impair your ability to safely operate a vehicle.
